HBHS win two out of three at Waimaths Competition
The 2019 edition of the popular Waimaths competition took place last night with teams of 3 students from approximately 20 schools in the Waikato competing in the race to solve 20 challenging Maths problems in 45 minutes.
The Year 11 section was won by Hillcrest with HBHS placing a creditable third.
Our Year 10 team, consisting of Michael Lin, Nathanael Loy and Nathan Ludlow won their event with 57 points from a possible 60, finishing 1 point ahead of second placed Hillcrest in a tense finish, completing their final question with 55 seconds to spare.
Competing in the Year 9 Section, our team of Alex Liu, James Jung and Thomas Ter Beek (see at left) scored 59 points, a clear 4 points ahead of HGHS.
